artist statement

My name is Brittany, and I'm a mother, human, and artist. I'm a Los Angeles artist currently living in California, but originally from Northern Virginia "the DMV" (iykyk). As a contemporary artist, figurative painter, and charcoal artist, I explore the beauty, complexity, and transformation found in everyday life.

While my formal art education is self-taught, my true learning unfolds through the tapestry of lived experience, where art reveals itself in both the smallest and grandest of moments.

Painting has allowed my mind to wander and given my body permission to create. Each artwork is a deep dive into personal experiences, shaping my perspective as a woman, motherhood and person of color. You'll discover a variety of sizes, colors, and forms throughout my work, all created to explore femininity, transformation, connection, and the evolving experience of being human.

I hope you find something you connect with or something you don't connect with, but that still initiates a thought, feeling, or moment of reflection.

Thanks for being here
